Plants and Configuration Add New Plant Because a Plant is also an Entity, its establishment is achieved by following the instructions above in this SHORTCUT SECTION under Entities: Add New Entity. For a Plant, the chosen Class must be Engineering Service Areas and the chosen Purpose, will most likely need to be either Heat Plant or Chiller. After creating such a Plant Entity, you should check that there will now be access to a Config link. To do this, point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Facilities List link followed by the Show Entities link. In the Facilities List so obtained, on the line for the new Entity, just after its Purpose, there will be a Config link which allows the Plant to be configured. Note: Having created a Plant enables its functional output of heating, chilling or pumping etc, to be allocated to other Entities through a Configuration. However, it is still necessary to have a Meter which records the energy input required to run the Plant. Plant Configuration To add, view, edit, close or delete a Plant Configuration, point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Facilities List link followed by the Show Entities link. In the Facilities List so obtained, on the line for the required Entity, just after its Purpose, click the Config link. From there on, proceed using the appropriate instruction above in this SHORTCUT SECTION under Energy/Utility Maps and Configuration, as if the Plant were a Meter.
