Energy/Utility Maps and Configuration
Special Note about Plants: In most respects under this heading, Plants can be treated as Meters- ie the same instructions can followed except that each time you see 'Meter', read 'Plant'. However, a Plant Configuration is accessed through the Config link beside Purpose on the Facilities List (Extended for Entities) and not through the Meters List, although either type of Configuration is directly accessible through the Config link on an Energy/Utility Map. Finally, there is no equivalent to sub-metering for a Plant.

Add Meter Configuration
Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Meters List link. Click the Meter Config link for the Meter to be configured. If no Configuration exists for this Meter, a message will tell you this and on clicking the Open button a blank Assets - Meter Configuration page will be presented. Complete the required effective date in the Start Date: information fields and click the Save Date Changes link. If the relevant Entity details are already in the system, percentages of energy can also be set in the small box at the bottom as described in the second paragraph (Adjusting Percentage Energy Allocations) of the instruction immediately below - Add Entity to Meter Configuration.

Add Entity to Meter Configuration
It is assumed that the Entity concerned has already been added to the system. (If not, see Add New Entity under Entities below.) Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Meters List link. Click the Meter Config link for the Meter to which the Entity is to be added to get the Assets - Meter Configuration page. If this is a new or significantly changed Entity, in the right hand side of the box at the top, click the New link and complete the required effective date in the Date of Change information fields and click the Save Changes link. This will close the existing Configuration and open a new one with both changes effective from the chosen date. If, however, adding the Entity is merely correcting an oversight, then you may wish to continue the existing Configuration and have it retrospectively adjusted by leaving the Start Date as is and proceeding to the next paragraph.

Adjusting Percentage Energy Allocations
The small box at the bottom of the Assets - Meter Configuration page is where you can allocate percentages of energy by Entity. If this is a new Configuration record, a drop-down list will appear at the top of the small box of all the Entities on the Site where the Meter is located and the required allocations can be entered. However, if you continued with the existing record, you will find the allocations already listed. Should these allocations total 100%, you must first reduce at least one of them by the percentage amount you wish to allocate to the new Entity. To do this, click the [Entity Name], edit the percentage downward by the required amount and click the Save Changes link. After this change, (or if the allocations already totalled less than 100%) the aforementioned drop-down list of Entities will have appeared at the top of the small box. Select the required Entity in the drop-down list and then set its percentage of energy (100% if only one Entity is supplied). There is also an optional Remarks field for any brief notes. Click the Save Changes link just below and the new allocation figures will appear. The percentages allocated to any other Entity can also be adjusted by clicking the [Entity Name] and editing similarly. If you are replacing an old Configuration record with a new one, you can click the Useful Shortcuts Configurations Previous link to view the old allocations and return by clicking the nearby Next link. Note that if you should choose a percentage figure that would raise the total above 100%, when you click the Save Changes link, you will find that the system has reduced the percentage actually recorded for the last entry to the allowable maximum figure and a warning at the top of the page will advise you of this.

Close Meter Configuration
Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Meters List link. Click the Meter Config link for the required Meter to get the Assets - Meter Configuration page. In the right hand side of the box at the top, click the Close button.

Edit Meter Configuration
Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Meters List link. Click the Meter Config link for the required Meter to get the Assets - Meter Configuration page for the most recent record.

Edit Existing Configuration
If the desired changes are to correct or improve the accuracy of the recorded information for the existing Configuration as it relates to a current and stable situation, then do not click the New Configuration link. Instead, proceed to edit the Entities and/or energy allocations in the small box at the bottom of the page as described in the second paragraph (Adjusting Percentage Energy Allocations) of the instruction immediately above - Add Entity to Meter Configuration. You can also change the Start Date: for the existing Configuration record if that needs correction and you must then click the Save Changes link. Such a change does not create a new Configuration but it retrospectively adjusts the effective date of the existing one (as amended if there were other changes made as well).

Create New Meter Configuration
If there are new on-going physical changes such as installing a new sub-meter or the addition or removal of a whole Entity (or a significant part of one) then you will want to create a new Configuration. Click the New Configuration link and complete the required effective date in the Start Date: information fields and click the Save Changes link. This will close the existing Configuration record and open a new one with both changes effective from the chosen date. You can then proceed to include or exclude Entities or adjust energy allocations as described in the second paragraph (Adjusting Percentage Energy Allocations) of the instruction immediately above - Add Entity to Meter Configuration. Note also that if an Entity has been significantly changed it will also be necessary to update its Attributes. (See the relevant headings under Entities or the appropriate Attributes in this SHORTCUT SECTION.)

View Energy/Utility Map for Specific Entity
Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Facilities List link. Click the Show Entities link and then the Map link on the line for the required Entity Name.

View Energy/Utility Map for Specific Site
Point to the Quick Tab Asset Details link and in the drop-down menu click the Sites List link. Click the Map link on the line for the required Site Name. View Meter Configuration
