Assets - [Energy Type] Consumption

This page is where new Consumption records are added, or old ones can be edited if necessary. At the top, there is the Search box which enables you to select a new list according to the dates chosen. As a default setting, the Search covers the latest six complete months, or for Time of Use Consumption, the latest two months. Reticulated gas and electricity require a greater amount of information than for other types of energy, mainly due to more sophisticated information gathering.

Data can be added by entering the required number of lines of new Consumption data in the Add box and clicking the Go link. Editing can be done by clicking the edit link at the right end of each line. For every energy source other than electricity, you can enter either the kWh units that have been consumed and/or measured units (e.g. litres of diesel, kilograms of coal, gigajoules of gas). If the kWh field is left blank, it will be back-calculated and completed automatically.

The Consumption data that is entered must be the actual units consumed during the defined time or times, and not a cumulative figure, nor a meter reading.

Also note that if the Invoices procedures are being used to check invoices regularly for each billing period, then the Consumption data will be loaded automatically in these records at the same time.

See Appendix E for definitions of each information field.
